Research Design Service London

Research Design Service (RDS) London is a new advice service funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) which gives help on research design to NHS and other health researchers.

Queen Mary is one of four centres around London sharing responsibility for the service, with other centres at King’s College London, Imperial College London and University College London.

The Queen Mary arm of the project is jointly led by Sandra Eldridge - Professor of Biostatistics and Joint Centre Lead of the Centre for Health Sciences, and Clive Seale - Professor of Medical Sociology, Centre for Health Sciences, Institute of Health Sciences Education, in the School of Medicine and Dentistry. They are assisted by Jan Whalley, administrator for the project.

Researcher advisors at the Institute of Health Sciences Education provide the service to researchers in the North East London area. The focus of RDS London is to support funding applications from NHS researchers and their academic partners, with priority given to those interested in the Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) funding stream of the NIHR.

The service is free and will provide access to an unrivalled team of experts in applied research methods in health and social care, with the objective of getting more London-based research projects successfully funded.
