Dr Ian Curran Part of Award Winning London Deanery Team

Dr Ian Curran, from CME, is part of the London Deanery team who has led the simulation healthcare training initiative and won the 2009 Patient Safety category at the Health Service Journal Awards.

Dr Curran is the London Deanery's Head of Innovation and Lead for STeLI (Simulation and Technology-enhanced Learning Initiative).  The project has been promoting patient safety and innovation in education since early 2008 across London's trusts, PCT's and mental health trusts.  STeLI has introduced state-of the-art education technology, promoting the use of computer controlled patient simulators, surgical and task-based simulators and advanced behavioural and educational techniques.

The important national Award, sponsored by the National Patient Safety Agency, recognises services that demonstrate patient safety as being at the heart of an organisation's culture.
