1975-77 Lecturer in Biochemistry, University of Nairobi, Kenya
1977- to date Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry, London Hospital Medical College (subsequently School of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL). Research in: biochemical aspects of neuropathology; human lysosomal storage diseases; and in trypanosomal biochemistry. Teaching mainly of cell biology in MBBS Year 1.
More recently, Associate Dean and Senior Tutor (Education Quality) in the Centre for Medical Education (SMD), specialising in all aspects of quality assurance in the SMD and the interface with the College's Academic Registry. Deputy Chair, Medical Education Quality Enhancement Committee. Co-convenor of Fundamentals of Medicine module in MBBS Year 1; Head of MBBS Year 2; Deputy Chair of Exam Board for MBBS Parts 3, 4 and 5. Chair, MBBS Phase 1 Committee; Staff Chair, Junior Student-Staff Liaison Committee.
